New healthcare comms agency launched in UK

Healthcare communications specialists Fiona Edwards and Katie Langdon have launched a new creative agency specialising in pharmaceutical marketing services.

Based in Reading, UK, Skin and Blister aims to ‘put the care back into healthcare communications’ using an insight-gathering approach to make complex health information meaningful, accessible and useful to all.

Langdon, who serves as the agency’s creative director, explained: “While working as freelancers, we noticed that some projects did not receive the full care that they deserved. It is time to bring it back.”

Langdon had worked as a freelance creative copywriter since July 2013 when she left her role as senior copywriter at Lime Advertising to provide creative, scientific and strategic advertising expertise to small and large network agencies across the industry.

Meanwhile, Edwards, who is now managing director of Skin and Blister, had been a freelance account director and copywriter since 2007, working with agencies and clinical research organisations such as Huntsworth Health, Lime and Quintiles.

She said: “We care fully, with an ethos of challenges, not chores.

“With Skin and Blister, you aren’t paying for unnecessary extras. You get bespoke creative work, from our team of healthcare communications experts.”

The new agency offers the full spectrum of pharmaceutical marketing services – including social media and experiential marketing – with a particular expertise in clinical trial patient recruitment and retention, for which it has established a dedicated division.
